The third generation Audi TT may still be new, but that has not stopped Audi from producing a concept car out of it. The Audi TT Sportback gains a very clean rear roofline, coupled with a very sharp rear end. From far, you might mistake the Audi TT Sportback for a coupe.
Still based on the Volkswagen Group MQB platform, the Audi TT Sportback concept boasts similar dimensions to the Audi A3 sedan, but surprisingly, a lower ride height than the Audi TT itself. The interior of the Audi TT Sportback is the same as the coupe/roadster variant, but with added rear seats.
Also like the Audi TT, the Audi TT Sportback Concept also sports the same EA888 2.0L TFSI engine, producing some 400 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Power is transferred to all four wheels via the Audi Quattro system, similar to the Audi TTS. Despite having 2 extra doors over the coupe variant, the Audi TT Sportback is able to sprint from zerotohundred in just 3.9 seconds.
Ulrich Hackenberg, Audi R&D chief used to hint that the Audi TT family could gain extra body styles, and was quoted, “it is a new member of a possible TT family.” If the Audi TT Sportback ever enters production, expect the rims to be toned down, as it currently sits at 21 inches, while the humongous grille up front would also be toned down.
