Chopping a roof off a coupe, can result in either very catastrophic or just stunning. Fortunately for Aston Martin, who chopped the roofs off the V12 Vantage S, the Roadster version is a stunner.
Other than the missing roof, under the hood lies the very same 6.0L V12 with 565bhp and 620NM of torque. With this amount of power, the Vantage S Roadster can mussel a top speed of 201mph (323km/h) and completes the century sprint in just 4.1 seconds. The coupe variant, does the same century sprint in 3.9 seconds. Despite being 0.2 seconds slower than the coupe, the Vantage S Roadster is Aston Martin’s fastest convertible, ever.
The huge V12 transfers its power to the rear wheels, via a Sportshift III 7-Speed automated manual transmission. For the manual purist, this is a bummer, as there are not manual transmissions offered.
Like other Aston Martin models, the Vantage S Roadster is offered with several driving modes, which consists of Normal, Sport and Track. Each mode has a different effect on throttle response, gear changes, exhaust noise and traction control. Coupled with the lightweight exhaust derived from the One-77, owners of the Vantage S Roadster will no doubt be having a great time behind the wheel.
