The Ferrari 458 Spyder, also recalled.
In the land of recalls (USA), another maker has recently fallen prey to a recall. This time around, the recall strictly involves the Ferrari 458. The Ferrari 458, after its launch, was also subject to a recall, as adhesives used in the engine bay was subjected to a lot of heat, and could potentially burn the whole car down.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA) has stated that “the secondary latch for the front trunk storage compartment may not release when the vehicle is stationary. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 401, “Interior Trunk Release.””. In simpler terms, it means that if a person is stuck (or kidnapped) in the front boot of the Ferrari 458, it could possibly cause their death, as the car’s boot would not open from the inside.
Barely fits a hobbit in there, what more a regular human.
At the moment, only the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Ferrari 458 Spyder is subject to the recall. No mention whether the hotter Ferrari 458 Speciale is involved or not.
We wouldn’t imagine who would want to kidnap a person using a Ferrari 458, when the boot space is very, very limited.
