Seoul Motor Show (2013) – A Quick Peek

Korea, the country that that gave new meaning to ‘Seoul’ food and brought us the likes of many K-Pop stars and groups that have showered us with much entertainment, but this time around, they’ve got their own thing going at the KINTEX (Korea International Exhibition) Center, located in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea – The 2013 Seoul Motor Show.

The 2013 Seoul Motor show is out to impress, allowing car makers of both international and domestic to showcase their latest and greatest engineering creations spread over an area of 102,431 square metre that includes the likes of Audi, Porsche, Jaguar, Citroen, Peugeot, Chevrolet, Volvo Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover, LEXUS, Volkswagen and even Kawasaki to name a few. And of course, Hyundai, Kia and Ssangyong were also present to ensure that they too get some of the lime light.

Although much of the international media’s attention is being focused on the New York Motor Show, happening at the same time, Koreans now have a venue of their own to visit; although they are very much domestically inclined when it comes to goods, but because of the stronger Won versus a weaker Yen, Japanese car makers are now starting to making better headway with their products entering Korea at a cheaper price point.

An expected crowd of roughly 1.2 million patrons will be gracing the show once the doors open at 10am and shut at 7pm on a daily basis between 29th March and 7th April, 2013,

We managed to gain access to the show a day ahead of it opening to the general public, allowing us to stroll through as many exhibits as we could during the limited time (effectively having only 3 hours to spend) that we had just to give you an idea of what sort of offerings could be had in this particular neck of the woods.
