Michelin Malaysia today presented the latest addition to their lineup – the all new Primacy 3 ST. Set to replace the outgoing Primacy LC, the new 3 ST promises to offer drivers a quieter, more comfortable, safer and long lasting tyre that answers to their specific need and expectations. This tyre was specifically designed and developed with Asia Pacific’s extreme road and weather conditions in mind, which has been in development for 10 years and covered 1.3 million kilometres specifically for R&D.
Due to the increasing demands of drivers in Malaysia and other Asia Pacific regions – Micheling says that the development process of this new tyre was indeed challenging; however they believe that with the new Primacy 3 ST, they have found the breakthrough tyre that will meet the market’s demand.
Speaking at the launch of the MICHELIN Primacy 3 ST today, Beltran Yturriaga, Managing Director of Michelin Malaysia Sdn Bhd said – “The MICHELIN Primacy 3 ST is a strong contender in the local premium passenger car tyre segment, offering all the right attributes including comfort, peace and quiet, and greater total mileage without compromising on the quality of a high performance tyre.”
Sitting above the brand’s entry level tyre; the Energy XM2 – the Primacy 3 ST promises to deliver 25% longer life than its predecessor and rivals. The claimed average life of the 3 ST is expected to be around 75,000kms on an average drive cycle. Michelin admits that although their tyre may be slightly more costly than its rivals, they are convinced that the end-user will benefit from its longevity and benchmark performance.
According to Yturriaga, the MICHELIN Primacy 3 ST’s unique capability to deliver multiple performances was the essence of MICHELIN Total Performance featuring four Michelin leading technologies:
– EvenPeak technology ensures an 8% quieter ride compared to leading competitors thanks to a unique tread pattern with a wider spectrum of tread-block sizes, spreading noise across a frequency range which makes it significantly quieter. That’s why Michelin called its new Primacy generation ST which stands for Silence Tuned.
– CushionGuard technology delivers the best performance in Comfort, combining flexible tread compounds, shock absorbent sidewalls and noise-filtering rubber to cushion vibrations caused by uneven road surfaces.
– Stabiligrip and FlexMax technologies work together to achieve 1.6 meters shorter braking distance in wet conditions than predecessor and 2.9 meters compared to the average of leading competitors.
