Mazda Engineers finding ways to Convince Execs to Shift Attention to RWD Models?

Mazda is far from being a defunct auto manufacturer, and their current lineup of front-wheel and all-wheel drive model have seen success on many parts of the world.  While that is good for times like today, the engineers at Mazda are not that pleased about it, and apparently they wanted the automaker to shift the focus in producing more rear-wheel drive cars.

Known for cars like the RX-7, RX-8 and MX-5, it would not be a problem for Mazda to go back to making great RWD cars once again; given the executives are okay with it. But since Mazda is doing well with what they have today, you could say that they are not that pleased about it.

Then again, this is not totally an absurd request as Mazda is now collaborating with Alfa Romeo, and the Italian marquee is looking forward in making their sedans in RWD somewhere in the future. Perhaps if both of them get their best brains together and come out with a creation, the result might be something we have never seen. The skin of an Italian, bearing the heart of a Japanese. Sounds like a perfect combination?
