Lamborghini founded the Squadra Corse a few months ago as a department specifically to handle their motorsport activities, which also includes their one-make race series, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series. And since the Super Trofeo race spawned the birth of its own racing-spec Gallardo, it is not a surprise for the Squadra Corse to come out with yet another version of the Gallardo.
Called the Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse, this new Bull is based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo, except this one could actually roll on the roads legally. The car incorporates technologies derived from the race car such as the weight savings through the extensive use of aluminium and carbon fiber, high-downforce aerodynamics and the quick-release engine cover.
The Squadra Corse is powered by the same V10 engine used in the race car, giving the car a zerotohundred dash of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h. This rocket dash comes not only from the powerful engine, but also from the Squadra Corse’s 68kg diet compared to the Gallardo LP 560-4.
The design of this new Gallardo is aimed to highlight the brand’s Italian roots, with a decal strip along the car’s flanks in the colour of the Italian flag. The Squadra Corse comes in yellow, white, grey and red; all with a matte black rear wing and high-gloss treatments for the hood, wheels and rear diffuser. The car is set to make its world debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show this coming September.
