More people tend to find themselves lured to the Harley-Davidson lifestyle here in Malaysia, and while those people would love to find themselves immersed into such, sometimes it can be a passing phase. Now with Harley-Davidson of Kuala Lumpur having their very own pre-owned motorcycle centre, there may be more heading for the line to join the ranks of Harley owners.
Located behind the main Harley-Davidson showroom in Petaling Jaya, just off the Federal Highway, there will now be new ‘temporary residents’ looking for a new home which have been checked by a team of professional Harley-Davidson trained technicians.
All pre-owned units are genuine local units (acclimatised to suit local conditions) and come with high specifications (upgraded exhaust system, wind shield, saddle bags etc.), low mileage, factory warranty (where applicable) and free service maintenance (where applicable). The pre-owned units consist of trade-in bikes, demo units as well as pre-registered units used for promotional events. The centre, which is fitted with the proper tools and equipment approved by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, also offers a variety of parts and accessories on special discounts.
Purchasers of all pre-owned units are not only eligible to become official full-fledged HOG (Harley Owners Group) members, but additional after-sales privileges as well that includes break-down/pick-up service (complimentary), on-site repairs (during H-DKL’s monthly service clinic visits to Northern, East-Coast, and Southern Malaysia, as well as Sabah and Sarawak).
The new centre currently has on display a Sportster 48, Sportster XR, Dyna Wide Glide, Softail Fatboy, VROD 105th Anniversary Edition, VROD Nightrod and CVO Ultra Classic. for the time being. Who knows when a new owner will be coming along to give them a new home.
With the opening of the new centre, a certain Mr Raj Thangavelu became the first owner of a pre-owned Harley-Davidson motorcycle and consequently a member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG) Malaysia.
Harley-Davidson of Kuala Lumpur (H-DKL) currently expects to sell roughly 600 of their motorcycles this year and roughly 100 pre-owned motorcycles will contribute to that number.
