We might not do bikes that much, but when a world-renowned marquee like Ducati is mentioned alongside with F1 legend Ayrton Senna, we just could not pull our heads away. In memoriam of the great Brazilian driver, Ducati had decided to produce a new limited and exclusive model of their 1199 Panigale.
Called the Panigale S Senna, the special bike was unveiled at the recent Sao Paulo Motorcycle Show. But before you get all excited to book one of these babes, let us break down the bad news first. For starters, the bike will only be available in Brazil. And even if you manage to get yourself there, only 161 bikes will be manufactured.
This is not the first tribute that Ducati had done for the F1 legend, as “the first tribute to Senna was a 916SP finished in grey with red wheels, the 916 Senna I, of which only 300 were produced, with two more versions, the 916 Senna II and 916 Senna III built in 1997 and 1998. All three versions of the Ducati 916 Senna model were limited editions and remain highly sought-after by collectors worldwide.”
The 1199 Panigale S Senna was designed in collaboration with the Senna Foundation, and also with approval by the organization. Ducati will start offering these bikes from June 2014, which comes with a racing exhaust system and a serial number engraved on the top clamp.
