No One Likes Blind Drivers On the Road – So Don’t TEXT and DRIVE!

Safe to say, over the last 20 years the importance of driving responsibly without being intoxicated in more ways than one has usually been the tip of the spear. But as technology gets increasingly integrated into our lives, the message obviously changes to ‘Don’t Text and Drive!’ – or more specifically “Stop the Texts. Stop the Wrecks”.

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has recently come out with an interesting advertisement that sees actress Dianna Agron from the popular Fox television show – Glee acting out a short clip that involves texting and driving that’s aimed at younger drivers. The clip was actually taken from a Glee episode.

Though young’uns are usually involved in these sorts of incidents, we’re pretty sure those of more mature ages have also been faced with similar involvements of driving and texting incidents as well. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the U.S. has even pulled out statistics indicating that reading a text message while driving could take your eyes off the road for about 5 seconds.

And if you were travelling at 100kmh at that time, you would have travelled 140 metres BLIND!
