With the grueling Merdeka Millennium Endurance Race 2012 being just around the corner, racing teams from all over are gearing up for 12 hours of non-stop action on the 5.543km Sepang International Circuit. And as a 100% Malaysian owned and managed racing team, Nexus Racing will again call up to this challenge that puts both man and machine to the ultimate test.
Nexus Racing had a successful run in last year’s race by spreading the gap between them and the closest competitor by 1.5 hour, securing the top position in the class’ title and a 7th overall. Blasting their way through with the Aston Martin GT4, this well-crafted racing machine will be up against other rivals from both local and international teams, all having their sights fixed on the top position of the podium. And the three men brave and skillful enough to tame this British Bulldog are Nexus Racing’s Datuk Adrian Henry D’Silva, Danial Bilski and Fahrizal Hasan.
“We have been working closely with the Aston Martin factory in UK to get the best from the car and our engineers are confident of its reliability and its ability to conquer the straights and corners. It would be great to have a podium result again this year and our team is working overtime to get everything in place for the 31st weekend and I’m encouraged by what’s been achieved so far”, said Datuk Adrian, who is also no stranger in racing, having competed in numerous races like the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Series, Honda Integra Cup and the GT4 Asia Series.
Since the last race, the Aston Martin GT4 race car had spent most of its time being prepped at the team’s technical facility for this endurance race. The three drivers will have their first taste of the race car during this weekend’s pre-trials, where they aim to make the most of the pre-test sessions.
The team will again have the honors to be sponsored by Jaeger-LeCoultre, Aston Martin’s official luxury timepiece. Both these famous and established marquees share the same values of integrity, the pursuit of excellence and avant-garde spirit.
