Was stuffing a GTR-sourced, twin turbo V6 engine into a tame Juke crossover could already be considered as crazy to you? If so, looks like Aston Martin will soon be joining the club as they are reportedly planning to do something out of this world which will make the Juke-R look like a cute, harmless creation.
Remember the Cygnet? This rebadged compact hatchback is apparently in Aston Martin’s sights as the test subject in this next absurd transplant where like the Juke-R, the British auto marquee is considering to stuff in this little city car with one of their own monstrous 5.9-liter V12 tower of power. Yes, they are not considering putting a smaller unit like the one from a V8 Vantage, but instead jumped straight to the big guns that powered the cars like the Vanquish and the much powerful V12 Vantage.
With the news coming from the Autocar magazine, they stated that sources suggest Aston Martin had already have most of the things figured out, which includes fitting the massive V12 into the Cygnet’s engine bay “without extensive modifications”. It is also said that the V12 engine will likely be de-tuned, reducing the power from the original 510-horsepower to a yet to be released output.
A V12 Cygnet; just when we thought we had seen it all, another nut head steps into the picture and raised the bar with something much more absurd. But will this piece of news actually take place and appear in real life, or just an imagination of some bored chap visualizing his dreams? Looks like we will just have to wait and see if any of these are true.
