Driver Comments:

Dominic Ang / No. 1 BMW Z4M Coupe
“It was really exciting doing my first qualifying in the series yesterday and I am happy that I managed to improve my time though there is still more that can be improved. I need to thank my teammate for their advice in improving my time. In the race, I had to watch for my fuel consumption. So I tried my best to maintain my pace, and push a little at the end to get a faster lap. Really happy to win again and need to thank my senior teammates in the team for their advice!”

Masataka Yanagida / No. 1 BMW Z4M Coupe
“My stint was pretty good actually, even though I too was aware of the fuel consumption. Sometimes Kataoka and I provided a nice battle together, that I think made the fans get excited. I’ m happy to win this time, too!”

Nobuteru Taniguchi / No. 1 BMW Z4M Coupe
“During the beginning of my stint, I tried to control my pace because of the fuel consumption. In the last session, I wanted to aim for the fastest lap of but by then the surface of track with all the traffic was dirty so I couldn’t make it. But, I am totally happy to win!”

Fariqe Hairuman / No. 28 BMW Z4M Coupe
“I am really happy that we managed to finish behind our sister car in 2nd again. It was a great result for the team. With the Japanese summer in full swing, it was really hot in the car but I manage to get a very good race. I would like to thanks to the team and also to our sponsors!”

Tatsuya Kataoka / No. 28 BMW Z4M Coupe
“Like my teammates, I had to always manage the pace, though with one eye on any chance to take lead. Just before my pit stop, I felt the car almost run out of fuel. But it was all OK as I managed to bring the car back. Overall, I am happy with second and that we got another 1-2 finish in the ST-1 class for the team.”

Ooi Fei Hoong / No. 28 BMW Z4M Coupe
“It was a very good qualifying for me yesterday. The aim was to be consistent with all the traffic! The race was really great and I learned and was able to improve a lot thanks to advice from all of my teammates, a big thanks to everyone helping me. Will do my best to continue improving!”
