The Porsche 911 GT2 is the top of range model in the 911 line-up, but not for long. Thanks to insider scoops from Autoblog and Teamspeed taken from a dealer event, we now know that a even more hardcore version is underway.
Predictably the new GT2 RS will be a true racer built to shred lap times and will likely feature a roll cage and an active suspension and even some adjustable aerodynamics as well.
As for power, the GT2 RS probably has to have a significant power boost over the upcoming 2012 GT2 which, according to reports, will feature around 548hp. However, as for the GT2 RS, Teamspeed is reporting that a figure of 620hp is very likely and that the car will weigh 90kg less than the 997.1 GT2, that adds up to a total weight of 1350kg. With such a dramatic power-to-weight ratio, the century sprint is said to be clocked in at 3.2-seconds.
The GT2 RS will be limited to 300 units and full details will be available when Porsche officially introduces the car in 10 days time.
