MotoGP Test Day 2: Nicky Hayden’s Ducati Clocks Fastest Time In The Wet

Day two or the last day of the MotoGP preseason testing at the Sepang International Circuit started wet as light drizzle continued to fall early in the morning till 10am. But it didn’t dampen the riders from going on with their test with Nicky Hayden riding a Ducati clocking the fastest time of the day as of noon today.

Hayden clocked 2:14.852 on lap 13 of the 5.543km long circuit, 13 seconds slower than yesterday’s fastest time set by Valentino Rossi at 2:01.411 in dry conditions.

Rossi who won his seventh MotoGP championship title by winning here in Sepang last year says that this testing is very important as the current rules limits the testing to only six days.

“I’m very happy about the start because I managed to do a lot of good lap times and the new bike feels good as we worked on better chassis stability and were able to maintain power even though having to make it last longer,” said Rossi yesterday at the Yamaha press conference after the Thursday testing session.

Testing continues today until 6pm, the teams will be back in town again end of this month on the 24 to 26 February.
