Let’s get one thing straight first, these are renderings, as much as they look like pictures these are actually life-like pictures. Bimmerpost forum member Alpine325ci went through all the effort of photochopping bits and pieces of existing photos taken at the Geneva Motor Show to create these amazingly realistic renderings.
The new F10 M5 will feature a smaller engine size, dropping the E60 M5’s 5-liter V10 in favour of the 4.4-liter bi-turbo V8 currently powering the X5M and X6M. But the unit will be tuned to churn out even more power than the two X models. The F10 M5 will boast 578hp with torque rating up by a whopping 40% over the previous model to a very impressive 720Nm!!
Keeping in-line with the global green movement, BMW says the new M5 will consume about 30% less fuel than its predecessor thanks to the EfficientDynamics technology. Apparently a kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) may also be made available in the new M5.
The F10 M5 is expected to be introduced sometime towards the end of this year with a market launch likely to be made somewhere around the second or third quarter of 2011.
