These are some interesting times in the world of motorsports, Formula One teams are racing to pick up new talent from the drivers pool and teams in other championships seem to be doing the same. Take the Le Mans Peugeot team for example, there have been whispers that the French racing outfit has been actively seeking out Formula One drivers to pilot its 908 HDi against the dominating Audis at the Le Mans 24-hour race for a while now, and lately these whispers are now turning out to be pretty audible.

Apparently Peugeot has registered three factory works cars to race in the 2010 Le Mans, plus another mystery car that has been registered as a private entry. According to our sources, that entry could be fielded by Red Bull – the one company that has the most comprehensive line-up of racing talent.

Among its most prominent drivers – and the trio that are said to be potentially piloting the car – are six-time World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb, 2007 Formula One World Champion Kimi Raikkonen, and one of the most successful F1 drivers never to win the championship, David Coulthard. The latter has played an instrumental role for Red Bull’s foray into F1 and could just be one of the driving force behind Red Bull’s latest venture into racing at the 24-hours of Le Mans.

While this remains nothing more than just rumours, there are chances that Red Bull could venture into Le Mans, with these three racing talents and Peugeot to back them up, there really is no reason why they would not be a force to be reckoned with.
