Kuala Lumpur, 8 October, 2009: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today introduced Proven Exclusivity, its Certified Pre-Owned Mercedes-Benz programme to provide greater assurance for customers complete with legitimate certification and warranties.
Leveraging the brand’s attributes of quality and trust, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is confident that this initiative will complement existing demand for new cars while improving residual for pre-owned models.
The Proven Exclusivity programme guarantees its cars are in impeccable condition and have undergone a comprehensive multipoint inspection with up to 215-point checks by Mercedes-Benz trained personnel. Buyers will have peace of mind knowing that all cars in the programme were originally distributed by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, are not more than five years old and have less than 100,000km mileage.
All certified pre-owned Mercedes-Benz sold under the programme will carry a unique “Proven Exclusivity” signet to validate the reliability of the car. This signet can only be used by authorised Mercedes-Benz used car dealers.
According to Peter Honegg, President & CEO of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, this programme is ideal for Mercedes-Benz enthusiast to confidently purchase pre-owned Mercedes-Benz as they carry the company’s seal of approval on quality and performance backed with certification and warranties.

In Malaysia currently, the majority of pre-owned Mercedes-Benz cars are sold by independent used car dealers without warranties or proper certification. Honegg said that the dealerships also stand to gain from this new venture while being exposed to a whole new customer base.
“Similar programmes have proven to be very profitable as well as complementary to new car sales for Mercedes-Benz dealers in other markets. We look forward to seeing that happen here as well. While the dealerships can grow their business, the Proven Exclusivity programme gives us the opportunity to ensure that pre-owned Mercedes-Benz customers are getting the best in terms of service and vehicle quality.”
The programme offers a minimum warranty of 12 months or up to 20,000km. In addition, customers will also enjoy servicing benefits at the respective dealerships.
The Proven Exclusivity programme will be offered in phases at selected Mercedes-Benz dealerships nationwide starting with five dealerships – Cycle & Carriage Bintang Petaling Jaya, Cycle & Carriage Bintang Mutiara, Hap Seng Star Kinrara, NZ Wheels Klang and Lowe Motor Juru. Phase II, scheduled for early 2010, will see four more dealerships come on board.

The Proven Exclusivity programme is also supported by a website to search for pre-owned Mercedes-Benz cars for sale and provide in-depth details on the vehicles listed.
