Ken Block And Travis Pastrana Try To Set A New Land Speed Record – On Garbage Bins and Sleds

Ken Block videos are always great fun and they kind of make you wish that you had access to all of the things he had, an abandoned air field, long straights, unused warehouses, and now, salt flats. This time around Ken Block gets together with motorcross champion Travis Pastrana and tears up the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Some of their friends tag along as well, apparently in effort to break the world speed record on some garbage cans and plastic sleds.

Naturally accidents do happen, but it all looks like a video shoot for something bigger and more entertaining. Whatever it is, the video’s worth a watch.

Thanks for posting this video – Ken Block is the man! What a crazy dude, hope to see him on Nitro Circus next season, I bet he’d have some gnarly stunts. Anyone else catch his ESPN featurette? It really gave some great insight into one of the most interesting characters on the scene, definitely worth checking out.

Also I was stoked that they featured “Sons of Cain” by Ted Leo + Pharmacists – I’ve loved that band since their first album and thought the song makes the perfect Ken Block soundtrack. You can check out the whole video at http://displacedbrett.wordpress.com/2009/07/31/being-ken-block/
