Formula One: Petronas To Stay With Sauber

Toyota’s decision to quit Formula One may have been a sad thing for fans and employees but it also means that a race number is now available for another team. That team will most likely will be Sauber.

Sauber was put into a limbo when BMW announced its decision to quit Formula One but with Petronas looking to stay in F1 next year, the two long term F1 partners look set to continue the partnership.

There were talks about Petronas partnering Lotus F1 as the latter is also a Malaysian owned team, team boss Tony Fernandes confirmed to the New Straits Times newspaper that an approach was made.

“As it is, it looks like an announcement will be made by Petronas in the coming days once it becomes clearer whether that vacancy left by Toyota becomes Sauber’s,” said a source.

“If Sauber are back in F1 for sure, and it looks a virtual certainty, then Petronas aren’t going anywhere.”

It make sense doesn't it. A giant oil company like Petronas will not gamble on sponsoring a relatively unknown 1Malaysia/ Lotus F1 team. So staying put with sauber (even with no BMW) which they had more that 10 years of patnership; is an understandable decision.

It still depends on whether Sauber can cover some of the deficit left by BMW's exit. Qadbak is said to be the saviour but there have been question marks on them too. There is till a budget hole in the team that needs to be filled though they won't operate at the resource levels they enjoyed with BMW

goverment servant pemalas masuk kerja punch card then off to breakfast!work for an hour or two then off to lunch comeback from lunch 1 hour later off to minum petang come back to office work for 1 or 2 hour balik kerja!!............and still ask for naik gaji,work quality 100% garbage,,ada hati gaji nak naik!!!ptuihhhhh!!!

hahhaha..Malaysia Boleh slogan now like hell man....yesss absolutely Boleh...equals to Boleh Membebankan RAKYAT!........no money still wanna show off but when rakyat say this they say ooo this os for sake of malaysia....piiiiiraahhhhhhh....
if not membebakan anyone...ok lar...but...hmmmmmm....
