ProDrive can be considered to be the gods of modern rallying and their achievements and a whole lot of World Rally Championship fans are there to prove it. They have rallied a number of different cars but none have been more famous than this (other than the 555), the very first Subaru piloted by no less than the power duo of the late Colin McRae and Nicky Grist.

First introduced at the Rallye Monte Carlo in 1997, this car is now privately owned and can be yours for about RM700,000. That is a lot for an old Subaru, but as the years roll by, it will prove to be a worthy investment.

The 1997 RDH tarmac version of the Subie wears chassis number PRO-WRC-97-001, and now bears the registration number P18 WRC. It has been thoroughly rebuilt by Ireland’s McKinstry Motorsport, since no matter how much you like Colin McRae, Pierro Liatti, and Kenneth Erikkson, you probably don’t want to deal with the stressed-out pieces of a steed they have ridden hard. If you’re interested, Prodrive has all the details.

Rm700k for a 12 year old car that has been driven hard without much care. Its just carried the butt of some famous person. So what? Just another expensive car to normal people.

But being a Subaru fan, this is the Holy Grail.
This or a Nissan GTR.....sign me up, this will be a legend.

RM 700,000? It's well worth the money. Colin McRae is a such a legend in the rally community and this is his first ride. Why not? It's a collector's must-have!

"...driven hard without much care, another expensive car..."
Dude are you mental? Besides being driven by a legend, rally cars, let alone prodrive cars, are some of the best maintaincd in the world. Having the take the beating they do and then fixed between stages takes some of the best mechanics in the world. Example being in Colin's whole career with ford they only once had to replce the focus - the entire career!
