Autocar Checks Out The Aston Martin Rapide

The Aston Martin Rapide is the first four door Aston Martin ever and considering this, it’s also one of the most anticipated. While the British company may not be ready to let journalists drive the car as it’s still under development, they are certain willing to let one take the passengers seat. Autocar’s Steve Cropley got the chance to take a ride as he joined the development team during hot weather testing of the saloon in Kuwait.

It’s actually a slow video with Cropley interviewing a member of the development team as they drive along. He certainly doesn’t look to be enjoying himself much. The Rapide’s exterior styling doesn’t seem to be very enticing and doesn’t have the same effect it had on us as earlier renderings had but it’s definately something different. The camera angle’s don’t show much of the interior but one thing is sure, there’s not much room as Cropley points out. Watch the video and let us know what you think.

If you ask me, the rapide is not that revolutionary looking. Considering it looks a lot like Jaguar XF. A Panamera is way ahead in shock factor. I wonder how Lambo Estoque is coming about? Coupe season is almost over. In the next 2 years 4 door super saloons would be the sellers.

Correction mates
The new Rapide is the first four door Aston since the peculiar 1976 Aston Martin Lagonda.
