VW Working on Its First Ever Motorbike

vee_dub_bike

Volkswagen have always made clear their intentions to build a bike and this was demonstrated when they shower their interests to acquire Italian bike builder, Ducati. They sadly passed on that opportunity but are working on allegiance with KTM to build a VW bike. Though the bike will look nothing like the Aprilia + MV Augusta mash up shown above, choosing to work with KTM is in no way a bad choice.

KTM, a bike manufacturer by itself, is believed to be the likely source of bike components and is rumoured to be providing technical know-how to VW as an appreciation gesture for helping KTM in designing the awesome KTM X-Bow, which uses an Audi engine. KTM is well known in the biking industry for producing excellent engines, so by basing a VW made bike engine on an existing KTM engine doesn’t seem to be too bad of an idea.
