Legendary Nissan tuners Nismo have finally released all the details on its line of upgrades that we reported on not too long ago. And like all good things that come from Japan, there’s good news and bad news.
The good news is that the Club Sport tuning package lives up to typical Nismo standards with its OEM quality and fitting with a focus on tighter handling and weight reduction. The package includes a Chassis pack made up of race-tuned Bilstein Damptronic adjustable dampers sheathed in 18.5kg/mm (front) and 9.6kg/mm (rear) springs. With the combination of rock-hard coils and adjustable damping at both low and high speeds, the GTRs mammoth gripping capabilities are about to get better and will see the modern ‘zilla carrying more speed through fast sweepers.
The Chassis pack is rounded off by a set of Rays forged aluminum wheels, sized 20×9.5-inches (+45mm offset) at the front and 20×10.5-inches (+25mm offset) at the rear. The rims are wrapped in Bridgestone RE070R run-flats, sized 225/40 and 285/35, front and rear. The rubber is believed to be the same as on the V-Spec model that is expected to be revealed this October.
The Weight Reduction pack includes a lightweight axle-back exhaust that alone sheds 5kg of the total weight of the car. A carbon fiber undertray help reduce air turbulence and parasitic drag ala Ferrari Enzo. The interior also plays its part in shedding the kilos with upgraded carbon-fiber backed and leather-trimmed seats, it also retains the side airbags but ditches the electronic controls which further sheds weight by 6kgs. The package also includes some NISMO badges, naturally.
Bad news: only available in Japan as a package and can only be installed by 12 NISMO-authorized shops and costs a whopping RM173,000. Some US importers are already working on getting their hands on the package but they will miss out on the added benefit of a three year/60,000km warranty. Wonder what NISMO Malaysia thinks of this.
