We all know about mini-fridges that come as standard in high-end cars to keep your drinks cool. But, what if u wish to have coffee whilst got stuck in the morning jam on Federal Highway? Or maybe to warm up the McD you bought on the way to trackday in Sepang? Electronics retailer Maplin has recently launched a microwave oven specifically designed for in-car use.
The microwave is made of steel, it comes with a heavy-duty handle, and it’s supplied with leads for powering it either through the car’s battery or via the cigarette lighter socket. Controls would be via an LED screen with touchscreen operation. According to Maplin, it will turn a cold pizza into a state of deliciousness in two minutes, or heat up a cup of coffee in three minutes. The microwave is currently on sale in the UK and Ireland priced at around GBP100.
Looking at the size, this could just be perfect to mount on those pizza delivery bikes instead?
