FIA President Max Mosley Retains Post After Winning Vote of Confidence

90806030121mFor followers of the scandal, this is not the final chapter so don’t worry, your drama series is not over yet. For fans of mad Max, you can now rejoice, for haters, well, continue hating.

After the scandal that rocked the world of Formula 1 like nothing before, FIA President Max Mosley faced a vote of confidence in him leading the world motorsports governing body and even after a riot of verbal assault calling for his resignation, Mad Max appeared victorious. Not bad for a man who was video taped participating in a Nazi themed orgy, even going to the extent of whipping hookers and being whipped. His father was a known British Nazi supporter and invited Adolf Hitler as his guest of honor at his wedding. Coincidence? That depends you.

140 motoring organisations from 96 countries convened in Paris yesterday and the secret ballot went in favour of Mosley by 103 to 55 with seven abstentions and four invalid votes. The delegate from each body was called individually to a put their sealed envelope containing their vote in the ballot box, which was then counted by the FIA’s legal department privately.

Expect world wide resilience towards the outcome of the ballot and Max but considering his tenure ends somewhere before the end of the decade, don’t expect any Nazi themed races but for now, you can let your thoughts about Max be known below.
