The 2008 D1 Grand Prix Tokyo Drift in Odaiba took place over two days and featured the best drivers from Japan. The drift battle in the heat of Tokyo that has been held for 2 consecutive years, comes back after yearning of three years.
The Tokyo Drift Odaiba event was an exhibition match, not part of the ongoing 2008 D1GP Championship, so placement will not affect the drivers’ overall points standings in the series. The goal of Tokyo Drift Odaiba exhibitions is to increase accessibility and awareness of drifting motorsports.
As always, the judge panel is accompanied by the golden trio: Keiichi “Drift King” Tsuchiya, the ever loquacious announcer Manabu “Mana-P” Suzuki, D1 Senior Advisor Daijiro “Dai” Inada” and also Hisashi “Oni-Gunso” Kamimoto as the assistant judge in this event as well.
