There is a reason why grid walks or pit passes during major race events goes in a very limited number, and sometimes only to certain individuals that meet their strict requirements. Racing teams have sacrificed a great deal of money, time and labor to shave off any excess time bogging them down on the tracks, and they need not more unnecessary distractions or disturbance from those unrelated to the game.
The journey to the podium does not only rest on the drivers’ shoulders to outrun the other rivals, but also on the efficiency and near-perfect executions of the rest of the team down at the pits. And when they are about to perform their lightning-quick executions of pit stops, one better not be in the way like this unlucky woman who had realized this the hard way.
