That Proton has been talking to Volkwagen is one very big open secret, according to reports from the international automotive media, and to quote Autocar UK, “Proton could become the latest firm to join forces with the Volkswagen Group, according to Proton’s chairman.” Now that’s news.

Exotic Mods VW Scirocco by Caractere – First in the country

exotic mods scirocco caractere front

Ever seen a Scirocco in the flesh yet? Now picture a dressed-up version in white, on 20′s fresh from the paint oven. It’s just obscene that some people get to order their cars before trying, and when finally here, is then sent to a shop for an extensive makeover. Not easy being first.

Exotic Mods undertook the project. We haven’t experienced the Scirocco prior to this and ironically, were expecting one from VW Malaysia just 2 days after this one. Honestly, who’d be as interested in the stock one after checking this one out? plus the suspension has been fiddled with, even the power has been upped, this is no ordinary Scirocco. We had a short test drive in this one instead.

The Truth Behind Paul Walker’s Fast & Furious GT-R

If you’re a car nut then you should be a Fast & Furious nut as well. Remember Paul Walker and Dom tearing up the streets in their gorgeous monsters that had us drooling? Well, the car’s were nice but now I’m not sure if they were worth drooling over. Here’s Paul Walker’s GT-R used in the first F & F with a somewhat peculiar twist to it.

In essence it still is a GT-R thanks to it’s shell but in reality it is just a tube-framed buggy with a VW engine in the back instead of a RB engine up front. The engine bay is now empty. Well, before you feel conned, this particular car was used for jumping and driving down a flight of stairs and I’m guessing the real thing was used for the rest of the movie. But still, I’m just guessing. Read the rest of this entry »

audi-r7-design-study

With Porsche now taken over by Volkswagen, we can expect a number of spin-offs from the extended chassis lines that are now available to either automaker. Or even to Audi, Bugatti, Lamborghini and others. abtsciroccoandgolf14

The Volkwagen Scirocco, when seen in person is totally gorgeous. The smooth flowing lines, the cool stance, the entire thing just screams buy me, then there’s the ABT version which just makes you want to steal it for a ride. Just a ride. I say this because when the covers were pulled off the maroon coloured Scirocco,

The Volkswagen Scirocco and new Mark 6 Golf GTI may have not made it to our shores yet, but expect the duo to make it here later on this year. While we wait for that, Cartrade-ABT has already introduced the ABT VSR GTI Mk6 and the ABT VSR Scirocco tuning packages. Read the rest of this entry »

Porsche Panamera and Cayenne To Be Discontinued?

panamera-cayenne

With Porsche AG almost completely absorbed into the almighty Volkswagen AG group, speculation is begin to raise on whether or not some of the Porsche models will be axed. Volkswagen itself has enough of SUV’s and sedans to sustain the brand thus allowing Porsche to concentrate on what it does best, producing heart stopping (pun intended) supercars. Here’s Bill Visnic of Auto Observer and his take on what Volkswagen will demand of it’s newly acquired entity. Read the rest of this entry »
