Exploring the Parking Lot at the 2012 TIMETOATTACK Round 3!

On events like TIMETOATTACK, the action and eye-candies does not necessarily have to be at the pits or the circuit itself. Actually if you are brave enough to fight or ignore the heat, you could actually find some great gems sitting idly at the parking lot. Don’t believe me? Then let us take a short stroll at the parking lot and see what was in store for those who did not mind the blazing sun.

A Run Into the Clouds – Emperor Touge’s 30/9 Genting Climb

Some might view Sundays as a perfect opportunity to kick in and have some time out, which also includes hanging up the car keys to let the engine rest for a bit. While that might have sounded great for some, the Emperor Touge guys however prefer to do otherwise. Rather than snoozing off the sunny Sunday morning of 30th September, they fired up their rides to again conquer the twisty uphill course of Genting Highlands for the umpteenth time.

The Backwheels Bitches’ Pavilion Assault!

While most try to come out with a simple and direct car club name in symbolizing themselves, these lot does not bother to do so. With a wide range of retro cars dating far back to the 60’s, they simply called themselves as the “Backwheels Bitches”, which upon the first time hearing it gives no clue whatsoever on what kind of car club this is.

Kustom Kulture in Malaysia Through Art of Speed 2012!

Some might consider a Lamborghini Murcielago as being a very rare machine over here, or even a Ferrari 599 GTO. Yes, while those are some rare specimens rolling in Malaysia, there are some that we had ever even thought existed. Those that are usually seen in the Land of Stars and Stripes with their gas-guzzling V8s, rumbling down the streets. And at last weekend, some of those machines got a chance to get a whiff of fresh air at the recent Art of Speed held at Solaris Dutamas.

And what makes this “Art of Speed” stand out from the others is through their “Kustom Kulture” theme that features a wide range of cars and motorcycles (especially motorcycles) being custom-built into something that almost resembles a work of art, besides of being the first-ever of such event to take place on our shores.

JPM’s 2012 Super GT Biggest Super and Performance Car Gathering

Last week’s Super GT, to simply summarize it in a few words, was totally fantastic. The cars were great, the chicks were stunning, and the crowd was overwhelming. And of course, the first two were no doubt the main attraction of the event. But sometimes it is not the main show that attracts the crowd. Since last year, where JPM took over the baton to continue running the Japanese race series in Malaysia, they had a new side-event to pull in more crowd into the race, the Biggest Super and Performance Car Gathering.

And “Biggest” it was indeed as last year, they had managed to pull in 405 cars for the purpose! The Sepang straights looked like there was a traffic jam, except all of them were cars that one would drool for ranging from the Japanese Skylines all the way to the Italian Ferraris.

JDMs at the TIMETOATTACK 2012 Round 1 (Part 2)

So we had already taken a look at the Hondas and Nissans, and it is now time for the other Japanese track machines to have the spotlight. And since we are at TIMETOATTACK, there are two AWD machines that should not be missed as they had appeared in a many time attack events around the world. Even outside the hail of snow or loose gravel, both Mitsubishi and Subaru is still a great driving machine in the right set of hands, with each having its own advantage.

HPC-ZTH Race Team : Mission Accomplished

HPC-ZTH Race Team – Night Practice

team-hpc-zth-mme-2008-practice-67_600Just a little more than a week to go and the team went for its night practice yesterday. The car is slowly coming together although there were some last minute gearbox works and wheel alignments done earlier in the day to make sure our outing was purposeful. With our 2zz engine currently limited to 6k rpm and the VVTL-i not functioning, our lap-times last night seem reasonable. Read the rest of this entry »
