BMW Cancels Development of E92 M3 CSL
August 28, 2008
This is sad, this is really sad. Everytime I see or ride in our ‘official’ E46 M3 CSL, I secretly vow to own one someday but that is to be no more. A used E46 CSL just won’t work and by the time I could actually afford one, it’ll be obsolete. So news about BMW shelving its plans to create a new CSL kind of hit all the right or should I say wrong spots with my emotions. Read more
BMW Recalls 200,000 Vehicles
August 27, 2008
BMW is recalling 200,000 units of 3-series, 5-series and X3 models in the USA to fix faulty airbag sensors. The 2006 3-Series and 2004-2006 5-Series and X3 fitted with sports seats are affected; the front passenger seat may develop cracks in its covering and the weight-sensor beneath may be damaged, so the passenger airbag may then not deploy in the event of a crash. Rendering: Next Generation Mercedes E-Class
August 18, 2008
I’m guessing it’s safe to say that Mercedes design language is departing from the round and soft edges of yesterday’s models to the sharper, bolder and edgier design of today. Think new C-Class. It’s safe to say that because even though these images may just be renderings of how the upcoming W212 E-Class could look like, there have been plenty of spy shots and other hints at the W212’s design and it does not fall short of these renderings. Preview: 2010 Audi A8
August 16, 2008
The current generation Audi A8 or otherwise coded the D3 has been with us since 2003. Only receiving a few minimal facelifts, it’s rivals, the Mercedes S-Class, Lexus LS, BMW 7-Series and everything that falls within the same category have all but moved on past facelifts and onto new models already. That’s a fact but the truth is, the design will have to stay on for at least another two years as the next generation ‘D4′ A8 isn’t due to arrive until 2010. Read more
Video: New BMW 7-Series Technological Showcase
August 14, 2008
We know how advanced the new BMW 7-series is, it really is amazing what cars have come to today. The video runs you through all the new advancements for the 7-series working in real life conditions and how every new technology in the car works to make your driving all the more pleasant. But I’m not too sure about the night-vision though, I understand that it could save someone’s life but just watch and see how eerie people appear in the display, I wouldn’t want to come across that while driving alone through an unlit road. The video showcases the following technologies:
Don’t Paint Your Car, Tape It!
August 8, 2008
Normally when you get bored with the colour of your car or it needs repainting, you would send it to a paint shop where it could take weeks, thousands of ringgit and no guarantee that you’ll get back everything as it was, except with a different colour of course. That’s what you and I would do, but when a BMW 335Ci owner in Munich Germany got bored of his black coupe, he sent it to be wrapped in white tape. Two days later he drove home in his refreshed “Alpine White” coupe, coupled with an M3 lookalike black roof. Read more
BMW Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo Diesel Coupe: High Performance, Low Consumption
August 6, 2008
A performance BMW that returns great mileage is something rare in current times, I’m sure it’ll be something very common in the near future but now now. Equally as rare is the sight of a Alpina tuned BMW here on Malaysian roads but there’s always hope. Based on the BMW 3-Series Coupe, the D3 Bi-Turbo Coupe runs on a modified version of the BMW 123d’s 2-liter twin-turbo diesel that churns out 214hp. Read more
BMW Confirms New Model To Debut Next Year - Progressive Activity Sedan
August 1, 2008
BMW has aggressively been expanding their line up these past few years. It’s not easy identifying a new niche in a old market but they successfully did so with their X6 and now this, the Progressive Activity Sedan (PAS), though its clear that the inspiration came from the success of the Mercedes CLS. Details about the concept have been relatively scarce but the wait will soon be over as the car is set to make its world debut at next year’s Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Read more
BMW Developing M Versions Of The X5 and X6 - Launch In 2010
July 31, 2008
We have heard this before but BMW has continuously denied that a M version of the X5. We have previously posted spy shots off a beefed up X5 prototype lapping the ‘Ring but BMW has dismissed it as nothing more than an X5 with the 400hp 4.8 twin-turbo V8 from the X6 xDrive50i. Read more
