wah, very good la this guy.. hmmm can i know this MS from beginning... i think im on the middle now so i dont understand what is MS exactly.. PM me the link.. Thanks!
cipan_supercas,
1. Are you using Streamxy (TM), so that i can send my program to you.( ~ 4Mbytes )
2. So far, the MS-Extra can support 4 channel on ignition ( is it sequence if 4 channel enable ? )
3. And i think all MS only support 2 channel on injector, is that right ?
4. It is correct you need two "big valve" ( like 4AGE with screw to control air flow ). One for cold start or fast idle up, and one for air-cond.
5. Did you order MS for your stock ?
6. Plese pm me for the price of MS kit.
Good Luck.
1. Yes. ztech@str..... but I actually want to see how it works in real time So that I can evaluate how easy or tough tuning jobs involved.
2. 6 channel x 2 = 12 channel in total.
3. No. You can tweak it to run more channels if you have the know how. But for end user, they recommend the batch fire for it's straightforward, less hassle installation. What do you expect the level of knowledge of diy'ers. Make it simple so that evrybody can understand.
4. No. If you have time to do some adjustments to the tunings, you don't really need all those but it will help simplify things.
5. No, I'm not a stockist nor distributor, I only assemble, modify, upgrade, install and tune. Not only MS but other gadgets too. (Might be you ecu too.... lol)
6. You have to look at the distributor list for prices. Look here:
cipan_supercas,
You quote:
1. " 6 channel x 2 = 12 channel in total."
What you mean is using waste spark ? ( 6 channel, 6 coils and for 12 cylinder, waste spark configuration, right )
You quote:
2. "No. If you have time to do some adjustments to the tunings, you don't really need all those but it will help simplify things."
You mean using "stepper motor" on Mitsubishi engine like 4G61T, so no need extra "big valve", right.
3. For MS-I, there are a lot of version, V2.0, V2.2...so which one ?
Good Luck.
1. yes.
2. You don't have to fit anything at all. It just runs fine with proper tweakings.
3. V2.2 are older. If you run high impedance injectors, it's fine to use this. It's cheaper. However, those turbo engines with big jumbo size injectors are usually having low z. You need additional daugterboard if you run those injectors to safeguard the injector drivers.
v3.0 are later. The daughterboard functions are readily been incorporated into it onboard. No problem to use either high or low z injectors. The pwm are software configurable. The price are higher. Furthermore, when the times come, you can upgrade this board to MS-II if you want with little mod to the board.
The link given should have all the infos, but there are too much to read. Your old eyes may get sored for reading too much... lol.
cipan_supercas,
You quote:
"The link given should have all the infos, but there are too much to read. Your old eyes may get sored for reading too much... lol."
Bro, you are right. My old eyes get sored( Wah, a lot of infor ) and my hands also shaking but my "brain" still working fine...he...he...he.
So, MS-I with V3.0 board, if reach to Malaysia ( with tax ) will be ~ RM 1500.00, right.
Arr.....wires and 37 pins connector are not included, right ?
Can get the 37 pins connector in jalan Pasar, K.L.?
[quote=cipan_supercas]I assume you only bought the 'basic' MS-II. In order to run wasted spark, you need a few additional items which will cost a little more.
[quote=ivan78] I don't know how to mod the v3....

No problem if you're willing to give me some 'undxr txble' .... for parts and labour.
not a problem. how much you charge me? post to you or meet up? i'm from selangor, able to meet at subang/sunway area.
i'm in penang, the delivery that comes in will be frm penang port or KLIA?
KLIA customs office near air asia new airport.
either ask your friend to collect, or just pay the tax. but if not mistaken, last time then charge me 20%. but i refuse to pay then...
another way is, try to find some one to apply dealership for malaysia/south east asia. just need to bring in PCB board, casing, CPU (maybe can find here), map sensor and so on. (not sure what can find in malaysia)
or, if you have a friend in usa, ask him to buy and send to you. and send it as gift, lower the value, let say $50 or less. if not mistaken, under RM200 is tax free.
about the sensor and other hardware, you can easily find in kedai potong. you can choose any coolant, air temp sensor and injector as long it fit in you engine. or use back OEM.
cipan, too bad i'm 4 - 5 hours away from u, in ur PM that u sent me, i assume i gotta buy those additional items ya?
The items I listed you are needed for your ease of assembly and suited for your application. You can use some of your oem sensors but that doesn't cost much to saved since the sensors recomended by MS are hassle free. Me too is using MS recomended sensors. That is something I owe you an explaination of 'why I don't use oem sensors'. You can ask me when we meet. The intake air temp sensor I quote you are specially chosen to work with turbo engines. The IAT sensors found at kedai potong as those fitted to the proton 1.5 are not suitable for turbo application.
There are some additional parts that you have to buy here in Malaysia and I know that it's readily available and the MS supplier don't list it either with their items for sale. That will be an extra around RM50.
When your package arrives, should it be detained by the Customs, Pos Malaysia will notify you of the detention. You can choose to declare to the custom yourself or you can appoint POS Malaysia to declare on your behalf. Of couse there are some fees and duties to pay. You can also intruct POS Malaysia to send it over to your designated adress after clearings, even have it posted to me here in KL.
There are some comment that says that parts to built MS are available in KL. If it's easily available, I would not have to order it from US. Partial kit with PCB, CPU and pressure sensor is enough while other components are fetch here. But that is not true. It may take another 5 year to have your project complete if you try to seek around here. In the end you have to make another parts order which ended up in more expenses.
Whatever it is, it's your money and you are the one that have the right to manage it.
ivan78:
FYI, I already apply for MS dealership and yet to receives approval. One more thing to remember, just like the case of kennethfong, most of us try to dodge around the customs tax.
have a look here: http://www.extraefi.com
just calculate how much he have to sell those MS's in UK after paying the tax.
I have my own reason for not using the oem sensors and it's not much to add either.
went pasar road today, seaching for MS1 cpu mc68hc and ignition driver vb921. spend more then an hours, non of them have it. better buy full kit, less hassle. or order from www.digikey.com singapore.
