got my MS1 V3 + 5x VB921 today. when to sepeng to collect my self. tax is 15% import + 10% sales. so total around RM250. + price $242.90, around RM1150. but i didn't pay the tax, i pay under paper. get some offer.
if appiont post malaysia BHD to pickup, will charge RM49.50 + tax. so is worth it to pickup my self.

what u bought the "MS1 V3 + 5x VB921" is complete set or what ? what u get with that package ? ecu board ? harness ? MAP sensor ? others ?

just under safc neo price...if that is the complete set price...that's just amazing !!!!! pls enlighten me

actually very simple. the more you read, the more you understand.
the more you do, the more you learn.

MS1 is megasquirt 1, come with Version 1 PCB, mine is version 3 PCB.
MS1 kit is all the component, plus casing plus 2.5 bar map sensor. this is unassemble unit. you need to solder your self. hardness? connector is include, have to build harness your self. you can buy the hardness. try read this,

VB921 is a component code. is IC driver. to drive coil. or easier to call it ignitor. for MS1, you can build in ignitor, and drive any coil (but not all). to run waste spark, i need 2 VB921. i have extra to spare, cause very easy to burn if the setting is wrong.

i'm alrady own a MS2 V3. but since MS1 document support is much stronger, and support more then 1 ignition output, so i order MS1 to try. the benifit of MS2 is the CPU is much faster.

Thats very cheap... i presume what u order is just a piggy back rather then a full stand alone right? I am also looking into MegaSquirt as I want to convert my car from mechanical to elctronic.

thats why im asking people to read more.
MS1 or 2 is stand alone. and you can run as piggy back, either control spark only, or fuel only. MS1 can drive any injector, any inpedence. any stock ignition, any stock sensor. of course some require to mod.
MS1 or 2 also can use on 2-stroke, board, bike, and rotary.

What u ordered and received is not an entire stand alone right? Its more a piggy back to your existing system. I believe a complete stand alone is much more....

If you use original ignitor, u can directly trigger it from the cpu but using VB makes no harm and you can use that either to trigger the ignitor or to directly trigger the coil. Just some sort of a buffer to the cpu.
Many cases that the VB got fried because of installation mistakes but it you don't have that for the buffer..... the whole unit is useless... you got it?

I think you should take note of what you have read. It seems like you're still left in the dark.
The MS kits are a 'STANDALONE' ecu and it's complete. However, to suits your personnel application, you may or may not need extra components. eg: if you want to control launching, then you have to add some extra transistor and resistors to have that feature. If you want to use wasted spark configuration, than you have to ad the extra VB and some resistors etc...
The kit you receive from your order, basically, should be able to run an engine that uses a distributor.

maybe you don't understand what is piggy back and what is stand alone?
piggy back ecu is modify your map or airflow signal and iginition siginal to cheap original factory ECU.
MS is not piggy back. it can't take input from map or ignition and modify to cheap original factory ECU. but it can act like piggy back. you can ignore the spark control, and drive any injector to do fuel only. leave the spark control by original ECU. or reverse, control the spark only, leave the fuel control by original ECU.

for example, emanage. after you install, you never tune it, leave the map zero. the car still start and run like original. cause what signal going into emanage will going back same value to original ECU.
but MS can't do this. if you didn't tune it, it won't start or run properly. you need to create your own fuel map start from zero.

MS1 is better then haltech E6k or similar .
MS2 support not as good is MS1 cause it still new, not much people develope yet. but the CPU is faster then E6k and E6X. i have try adaptronic, its faster then adaptronic 16bit CPU. plus, it can run close loop, with auto mixture. mean you it can tune it self when you drive. this already better then microtech, haltech and other market stand alone. so far i know autronic, motec can do this.
