Following a teaser video and shadowy images released a few days ago, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its pickup truck in production form, which is set to arrive next year. Officially badged as the X-Class, this pickup truck is co-developed with Nissan and is based on the Japanese automaker’s global model, the Navara.

Under the body sheet is a ladder-frame chassis shared with Nissan Navara and Renault Alaskan. However, the X-Class wears a sleek bodywork and an interior dressed to suit its premium image. The 5-passenger crew cab truck is previewed in 2 flavours; Stylish Explorer and Powerful Adventurer.

The Stylish Explorer features a sleek and clean body with 22-inch sports wheels while the Powerful Adventurer gets rugged grey plastic panels, chunkier tyres, raised ride height and a few other serious bits like a front winch and a fire extinguisher stuffed into the dashboard.

Inside, the cabin boasts leather upholstery and real wood trim, along with the latest radar- and camera-based driver assists as well as active safety system and a smartphone-friendly infotainment system. Similar to the truck it is based on, the X-Class will feature an all-around independent suspension setup with coil springs, with 2,400 pounds payload capacity and up to 7,000 pounds towing capability.

Mercedes has yet to disclose powertrain details for the X-Class, but expect it to come with rear- and all-wheel-drive configuration, and according to the automaker, a V6 diesel will sit at the top of the range. Finger crossed on the possibility of a V8 AMG-powered beast..

- i thought the fan broken, tried to knock the motor (suggestion from a friend), still not working
- but, when I turn the AC on, both fans (radiator & AC) are on now. Meaning, my radiator fan is working! It...
