BMW offers an extended wheelbase version of its 7-Series, Audi has an A8 L (long wheelbase) and even the Volvo S90 comes in a stretched ‘Excellence’ body option (for China only). Porsche, who undoubtedly didn’t want to be left out in the chauffeur league, is introducing the Executive option for its Panamera models.

Listed below are the 9 things you need to know about the 2017 Panamera Executive:

1. It will make world debut at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show.

2. Compared to the 2,950mm wheelbase of the regular Panamera, the Panamera Executive is designed as a ‘chauffeur saloon’, therefore it is 150mm longer.

3. The Executive body option is only available in all-wheel-drive Panamera models, the Panamera 4, Panamera 4S, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and Panamera Turbo.

4. Executive trim comes with more equipment, boasting a large panoramic roof, adaptive air suspension with PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management), heated comfort seats with multi-way electrical adjustment and roll-up sunblind behind the rear headrests.

5. The Executive variant for both the Panamera 4S and Panamera Turbo are further equipped with soft-close doors, 4-zone climate control, LED headlights with PDLS (Porsche Dynamic Light System) and ambient lighting.

6. Optional on all Executive models are a new large rear centre console which can be fitted with two folding tables and an inductive antenna connection for an additional smartphone.

7. The Executive also gets another nice option which is Porsche's latest Rear Seat Entertainment system, a pair of 10.1-inch displays integrated in the front seat backrests. It is also detachable to be used as tablets.

8. Power wise, the new 2nd generation Panamera will consist of 10 different variants (Executive and non-Executive), with output ranging from 330 to 550 horses.

9. The Panamera will be the platform for the new 330hp twin-scroll turbocharged V6 petrol engine for the base model. Compared to the previous-gen 3.6-litre naturally-aspirated V6, power is now 20hp more and fuel consumption is improved by up to 1 litre per 100km.

We will keep you updated once the 2017 Porsche Panamera Executive officially make its world debut, hopefully with more photos and details.
