When you produce a premium high-performance rear-wheel-drive sedan, you are contending in a competitive league, with big names like Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Jaguar to be taken seriously.

Alfa-Romeo has revealed the long-delayed Giulia Quadrifoglio sedan. With 512hp and 600Nm from its 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 to play with, the Giulia Quadrifoglio packs some serious number, and places it against the likes of BMW M3 and Mercedes-AMG C63.

Numbers aside, can the new Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio perform what German high-performance RWD sedans do best; slide around corners?

Chris Harris of Top Gear drove the Giulia Quadrifoglio on Italian twisty roads to see how it behaves as a road car, and at Alfa Romeo’s home circuit to get a taste of how the car dances beyond its limit.

The Giulia Quadrifoglio in the video is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. However, Chris is okay with the fact that the manual is not going to make its way to the UK, as only the ZF-automatic will. Watch the video to find out why.
