While seen as a Boxster with a roof, the all-new 718 Cayman is in fact much more than that. As with all previous Porsche midships, the Caymans are preferred by discerning drivers over the flashier, hairdresserish Boxster. But just like the Boxster, the new Caymans are powered by Porsche's superb turbo flat four.

The 718 Cayman is lower, wider and sleeker compared to previous iterations. Its strong proportions are complimented by large air dams on the front bumper and massive side intakes. Other than increasing air supply for cooling, these new intakes are unique to the 718 gen midships and signifies Porsche's latest direction in their turbo, downsized engines.

New found power also means heightened performance. For instance, when equipped with Porsche's super quick dual clutch PDK 'box and Sport Chrono package, acceleration from zerotohundred is dealt with in 4.7 seconds (Cayman) and 4.2 seconds (Cayman S) while top speed figures are said to 275km/h and 285km/h respectively.

Rear wise, the Cayman shares the same clean profile as the 718 Boxster and features identical slim 3D taillights. They've also retained the active rear wing that raises above 120km/h to improve high speed stability.

On the inside, the 718 Cayman also gets 918 Spyder derived steering wheel that looks like an engineering masterpiece. Finished in polished metals accents, it even has a GT sports steering option which shrinks its overall diameter for drivers who prefer an increased road feedback. Elsewhere in the cockpit are improved ergonomics, ranging from shortened reach between the steering and gearknob to the arrangement of function buttons. All in an effort to save time and improve driver focus.

Here comes the prices. The new 718 Cayman and 718 Cayman S starts from RM530,000 and RM700,000 respectively, and all Porsche cars sold by SDAP will come with a four-year warranty and free maintenance package. Nice but the front nose/bumper seems just a tad too sharp/protruding, isn't it?
Engine power seems not as maxed out yet, should still have a lot of room for power mod.

Ah anyway not for poor blokes like me! :smokin:

Although the camouflage makes the car pictured look like something of a cross between a hearse and a delivery van, it is in fact a Ferrari, quite possibly a new 2+2 in the granturismo form factor. Spied testing at the track in Fiorano and snapped by a photographer, the new car is breeding rumours quicker than it runs laps.

The new Ferrari is expected to...
