Dear all,

Its been a long time since i last posted. Needed to ask has anyone around here on D&D adjustable? My GAB SE is slowly giving me abit of headaches after 3 years of usage, performance wise i am satisfied with it but looking to try out the other brands.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Ken

Hi..

I'm using D&D.. aka drag & drift.
8k and 4k setup..

since you mentioned performance, I think you can consider.
Not bad, stability at high speed
sharp cornering also fine.

tyre plays an important part, I'm on 225 45 17.
Potenza RE002

comfort, still ok..
although I would love more.

Thanks for the feedback, although many tuners offer me to take on BC Racing V1, basically they are in the same league. However, can D&D to be sent to any workshop to service or i have to go back to mun lee? I am getting from them if i want to.

Titan SP12 is offering at 3.5k now which is kinda attractive though.

I'm not sure what is the price as when I bought the car, the coilover comes with.
so far, I only service once in my regular workshop in Johor.
Hence, I don't see need to go back to this 'mun lee'.

what kind of spring rate are you looking at?
your car is an evo?

Dear Kurt,

No mate, only a puny Lancer with crying out loud CVT. Since engine and gearbox is not able to perform so much, handling department must be good enough for some hoon.

Honestly for spring rate i don't have much clue, my current GAB SE coil spring is rated at front 8kg rear 6kg. But i think that's bit too harsh for my liking. Plus the coil spring is so short ! Like 20% shorter than my stock springs.

Thanks,
Ken

for spring rate, if you want more comfort, go for front 6k and rear 4k.
spring height also matters, go for 200 or 220.

Too low, your lower arms will be damaged fast..

Anyway I have decided to dekit.
My coilover is still in good condition despite being trashed by previous owner and myself.
Its the comfort and lower arms that makes me go for the downgrade.

I'm turning old and appreciate more comfort.
Plus I already spent 2 round of repairing my lower arms..
it really love good but comes with a hefty price.

What car you driving?

For my case i think its the spring height that cause some bumpiness that even the soft hard settings can not solve. Er, what car you driving? I do understand if you installed these adjustable, the lower car height and stiffness of suspension often damages the rubber bushings of lower arm. That's why some people upgrade to polyurethane bushings for extra handling and duration.

Thanks,
Ken

I'm driving a perdana with an old 4g63t..

yeah, PU seems to be a wiser and better choice.
its uncommon to use PU bush in Johor.
I was told there's a famous shop in KL that does pu bushing, probably will pay him a visit in august when I go KL.

See if you can someone to source hardrace front and rear lower arms for your ride or not? That will add value to your handling department and durability. The bushings used are harden rubber, so not sure compared to Polyurethane bushings, will they be much durable or not.

Thanks,
Ken

Hard Race rubber bushing not too hard bro, its a replacement for stock rubber bushing. Well may be harder a little but reviews said its marginal and improves handling.

Thanks,
Ken
