How come the M40 1.8 is churning out 122bhp? Most websites/literature I see rate the engine at 113bhp........

i think the E46 318i is N42TU

which will be 2002 onwards E46 318i.. Double Vanos.. 143bhp...

and then in 2004, they introduced a revised version of this N42TU which is the N46TU...

key differences is also the management system..

The N42TU has 1 computer seperate for control of the valvetronic system and the N46 now, the control unit is intergrated into the ECU but somehow, having driven this car, the N46TU power delivery feels worse and more sluggish...

hehehe
im not being bias cause mine is n42

Just my 2 cents. No continental cars are advised to use any form of coolant. It will cause the radiator to rust plus this coolants are not good. I might be wrong but this is from experience lar. Try using water oni in Ur radiator. I hope this doesn't offend BMW fans but I'm actually a Mercedes owner. but I like BMW engines very much. I would appreciate it if U huys can share with me more bout engines. I drive a 190E, a very competent car in terms of handling, but not so good in power. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's just not a good as the Munich powerplants, as much as u wanna argue. Maybe because BMW uses vanos and DOHC technology. I'm looking 4 an 2-2.5 litre can be 4 to 6 cylinder angine which has performance. Hope U guys can help me la.

Can someone tell me if M102 will fit into E32's engine bay? I've found one at Puchong... price is nego at RM 2.5k for engine only. Still searching for suitable GB. As for management, might use standalone since the original ECU is missing.

i read some articles bout someone having it in the car

can I ask what does it actually mean ?
it will switch off the battery so that the car won't turn on if not on ?

if so , i think it is quite useful for preventing theft ?
coz it can make the car unstartable ?

anyone know how to DIY one ?
or just get one installed ?
