As per subject title, I need to replace my car battery so would greatly appreciate any recommendations from ZTH friends here for brands and maybe also where to buy around Klang Valley. So far I've used Century Marathoner, Yokohama (the old black one before Gold), and Delkor. All MF type but not entirely happy with any of those, especially the Marathoner, coz they all will go flat within just a few days left idle in my Mark X.

Btw I'm no rich person, so my budget is just around rm200 for NS60L size, maybe at a stretch, max no more than rm250 only if it's really damn good!

Thx in advance guys!
Have you check whether you have parasitic leak? Meaning some equipment drawing power even though car is off

Yeah, I've checked the specs also and seems better than average but not as widely available and rather expensive (certainly over rm200).

Hmm never heard of this one before.

I've used Yuasa long time back for my old cars in Jakarta. That's the same group with GS brand also right? I will try look for those.

Yeah that's the same Century Marathoner I used before, not good. I actually want to use NS70 but my terminal is smaller type hence need to convert to bigger ones, a bit inconvenient. Plus with the NS60L, it's interchangeable with my wife's Livina so easy to switch if needed. So I actually want to get one with the highest possible power out of the NS60L within my budget.

It's that also a jumper kit so can jump start if the battery goes flat? Very cheap if just rm80.
Lucas battery, ok I'll try check those out too, thx.

Edit:
This Yuasa Japan is it?

Yeah but that one is expensive, so far they're selling at least rm300 leh!
The mudah ad show the same logo design.only different is that mine last time is printed on the battery in green colour.

The yellow box is only a charger not jumper kit.

call/google for bateriku.com

they provide free door to door service (or where your car was stranded)...

they take older battery trade in for rm20 also which is quite high (most just take rm10)

and they gave u amaron battery....

which is from many review quite reliable and got really high CCA...

changed mine last few week....

55D23L battery when testing fresh out of box having 804CCA!!! and after few minute idling it increased to 816CCA..

so far never saw any other 55D23L battery available locally that have high CCA rating as this amaron battery
Thats very interesting data..
I did search on the net about Amaron and their website is full of customer complaint in India. However all the complaint i read is for motorcycle battery.
Could be that export has better quality.

NS70 is even more expensive, probably rm350 or something like that. I'm offered for NS60L already rm300, some other ads in mudah selling rm350 for the same.

All MF battery has that indicator.
I changed all mine to NS70 and they cost like RM210 to 230 from spare part shop

Yeah I also heard many recommendations about Amaron from India. But the price is a bit on the high side while the spec at least on paper is just normal (but it's claimed to use silver platting). I was offered around rm200+ for NS60L with 15 mths warranty.
The Bateriku recommendation came from Pomen too

Anyway, I recommended them because their batteries are cheap. I've asked the price for the same NS40 battery elsewhere and it's all 190 and above. For 165 regardless of brand, that's cheap.

I've been a huge supporter of Amaron since their batteries have a failing indicator similar to panasonic. Unlike other brands that just out of the blue die off, Amaron and Panasonic both give off tell-tale signs like a struggling starter, dimming lights, etc before completely dying off after a week. Other brands I've come across seem great until it isn't.

That 200+ was from bateriku?

Huh over 800cca?? That's like more than double normal rating for my NS60L size, but yours is also bigger size battery. How much did you pay for that?
rm310 for 55D23L battery including trade in and work on site

i did that research to...

and guess what...

their older gen amaron battery last over 5 years from beginning :stupid::stupid::stupid:

even if current amaron battery lasted 3-4 years that is hella great already...

as compared to current century is quite problematic too... my friend kena just lasted 6 months....

btw my previous battery was cheaper batter,,forgot what brand... but last quite long which is about 4 years...and only dead because i accidentally forgot to turn off cabin light multiple time...and also my power amp haywired...the amp keep power on even the car is switched off...

so hoping this amaron could last atleast about the same time as previous battery

Have you got a heat shield for the battery? Most of the batteries I have been using last around 18 months to 2 years only. Then I add a heat shield for my Chery SUV, and that battery lasted 3 and a half years and that was a normal marathoner only.
Same time did heat shield for my Hyundai. My Hyundai uses the clamp at the bottom and the only battery that have the edge for the clamp was the Century hybrid non MF type. Even that lasted 3 years.
On my Mark X there's like a plastic casing that wrap around the battery. It also sits just right in front of the firewall and behind a fuse box which kinda shield it a bit from the engine. Maybe I can try make additional shield if possible.

Nope, I suspect maybe just my alarm and immobilizer. I also got 2 powered cheapo China made under seat powered subs, not sure if those also are parasitic. With my Marathoner last time cannot last more than 5 days idle. Then with the Delkor initially (maybe within the first 6 months, can alst up to 1 week, but then lately cannot.

NS40 actually can get below rm160 for most MF batteries.

The Yokohama in my wife's Livina was able to give some signs as I can see it gets weaker during cranking (like a slight 1 or 2 coughs instead of immediate cranking), plus the airbag sign on the Livina lights up just a few seconds after cranking up (normally should stay off). That sign lasted pretty long for several months before I finally decided to change it.

Anyway, to update you all, I actually now already bought a new Century Ultramax NS60L for rm200 all inclusive, and no charge for using credit card. I bought it from Kochi Batteries nearby Subang. Was tempted coz it's the best price I can get for the Ultramax and the cheapest battery with 21 month warranty. The spec says 443 CCA which seems to be one of the highest for NS60L but not sure if true or not. Was thinking about the Amaron but price is more expensive (around rm250) for the Hi-Life type with 18 month warranty.

Anyway thank you all for the recommendations. We can still continue to talk and share using this thread though.

Oh! if got casing already and placed away from radiator fan, then should be ok. My Chery SUV the battery placed right behind radiator fan. When I send battery for claim, the shop mentioned the battery is too hot, can even touch the casing.

My VR battery same case. If left for a few days then cannot start. Thought battery gone, so bought new battery but after a few days also went dead. Send for claim they test and say nothing wrong with battery. So I did test using my digital meter and found my ignition drawing current, so now when I park at home for long period I pull the fuse out. Battery now almost 2 years still running......lol

I was actually considering to buy just a wet/hybrid type battery coz much cheaper. In my old cars back then in Jkt, these batteries actually lasted much longer, at least 3 years plus (one even almost 5 years!). Not sure if such batteries today still have the same quality & endurance or not.

The spare part shop I am getting the batteries from, the difference in price between MF and non MF differs RM10 to 20 only. However for my Hyundai I need to clamp the battery at the side bottom and only the non MF have that edge. MF model do not have that edge so was forced to use non MF. However the battery did last up to 3 years and by the time it lost it's power I have not fill up the battery before and the acid level was still full....

Wet batteries should be much cheaper, I can get my same size for just around rm130-140.
