Honda Malaysia is showcasing its all-new contender, the new BR-V crossover at the Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC) from Nov 10 to Nov 13, alongside other existing models like the Accord, Civic and City.

Price remains scarce, but the Mobilio-based BR-V carries exciting practical features like a full 7-seater configuration, 2,660mm long wheelbase, split folding seats and roof rails, making it an ideal family car.

Exterior

The BR-V boasts a familiar front fascia, with redesigned Solid Wing Face grille, flanked by projector headlights with DRLs and fog lights. Giving it a true crossover appearance is a pair of roof rails, along with 16-inch Dual Tone allow wheels.

Meanwhile, there are new tail lights and a reverse camera at the rear with skid plates at both the front and back of the crossover.

Interior

The first row of the BR-V’s cabin is hidden from public eyes as a black cover is attached between the B-pillars while the front windows and windscreen are heavily tinted. However, we reckon that the front panel and dashboard should be derived from the Mobilio.

The 7 seats of the BR-V are designed to provide excellent versatility, with 60:40 split-folding (One Touch Tilt & Tumble) for the second row and 50:50 split-folding for the third row, resulting in a 539-litre of total boot space. All seats get 3-point seatbelts.

Engine

The BR-V is propelled by a 1.5-litre SOHC i-VTEC engine, capable of making 120hp at 6,600rpm and 145Nm of torque at 4,600rpm. The power output is sent to the front wheels via an ‘Earth Dreams’ CVT gearbox.

Safety

In the safety department, the BR-V scores a 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating for models equipped with ESC (electronic stability control). The 5-star NCAP model gets a 72% compliance for child occupant protection.

Advanced Technology Corner

Themed ‘Tomorrow’s Dream, Today’s Reality’, Honda booth in MIECC also displays the company’s know-how in technology, safety and robotics. Visitors will be treated with a showcasing of the Honda’s latest Hybrid technology (i-DCD Sport Hybrid), personal mobility device UNI-CUB β and the VTEC Turbo engine.

Hmm don't like the broken up body lines. This is a stretched HR-V just like the stretched Accordana limo.
