Porsche is now busy with the development of 991.2 GT3, as it has been spotted testing on the Nurburgring, undisguised.

From the images captured by GTspirit here, the GT3 now sports more squared front bumper intakes, similar to that on the Cayman GT4. The slimmer indicator units are derived from the updated 911 models, while the front apron looks largely unchanged. Featuring typical Porsche single-nut wheels, this GT3 test mule here however wear the Turbo S wheels.

Moving to the rear, the car gets 3-dimensional tail lights assembly with 4-point brake lights on each side. The centrally-mounted twin exhausts and wing is retained, however keen eyes could spot the thicker vertical exit vents on the outer part of the rear bumper.

Now comes the big news. Porsche fans can now thank the company as the Mk2 991 GT3 will be blessed with a 6-speed manual transmission taken from the limited edition 911R, along with a limited-slip differential. No information about gear ratios for the GT3 currently though.

Compared to the 911R which is powered by the 4.0-litre mill from 991 GT3 RS, the updated GT3 will be powered by the 3.8-litre unit, and is expected to churn out slightly more horses from the outgoing car’s 475hp.
