Karamjit Singh, in his new Proton Satria Neo R3 S2000, will have a good chance of breaking current points leader, Cody Crocker's, winning streak. The Proton will be the only Super 2000 rally car entered with most of the other competitors in Group N Mitsubishis or Subarus. Motor Image Racing Team drivers, Crocker and his Kiwi team mate, Emma Gilmour will be attacking the Tai Tuk estates in their Group N Subaru WRXs. Long time Mitsubishi Ralliart man, Katsu Taguchi will be piloting his Group N Mitsubishi Evo 9 with team mate Guarav Gill under the MRF Tyres banner.

On the local front, we have Team GSR Pennzoil's Guna Evo 9 vs Felda Rally Team's Saladin's Proton Gen2 4wd turbo for the MRC round 3 win. Saladin's team mate, Rozali in an ex-PERT Proton Waja 4wd turbo may pose a challange to the two if this newly rebuilt ex-PERT can withstand the abuse of the Kota Tinggi estates. Team MRU have expanded their team with 2 new Group N rally cars - an Evo 8 and Subaru WRX.

I went there on a Saturday, unfortunately when I got there Karam has already went into a ditch during SS2. So I did not see the Proton Neo S2000 in action, and only saw it in the service park after it has been recovered from the ditch.
