If want to know engine good or not normally people will check exhaust got come out white smoke especially turbo engine if got white smoke then better find another 1.
Next is gear box see got any weird or humming sound or not. If have better, becareful if the GB got problem it can be very painful.

If want to buy 2nd hand turbo car best is take yr mechanic or friend who familiar with car go with you.

better u bring sum1 dat know about mod cars or better a fren mechanic u trust.. atleast while test drive, he can know what wrong or any faulty.
