Default Security for our Evos

hello all. 1st my apologize to the admins should this topic has been discussed before. but, i hardly find any related and specific page discussing about our beloved Evo security. u can delete this thread and please forward me to the specified thread.

so, if u dont mind, why not we share ideas about how we can increase d security or anti-theft precautions as there are higher and climbing number of cars stolen in our country.

These are the some of the security from some people's advises:

CAR SECURITY
1. Alarm - just a normal, not the expensive, as most people said it is useless to have an expensive one - available from any car accessories shop
2. Steering lock - available at any accessories shop, a brand called OKLOCK is quite good in quality
3. Handbrake-gearshift lock - found on sale from China, need to order in bulk, not yet found in Malaysia
4. Kill switches (the more the better) - can be installed at any car electrical and electronics specialist/experts
5. Pedal lock - the best is fully press the brake before arming the pedal lock. this will provide full brake force on all wheels, preventing the car to be moved, it is almost impossible to move the car, even though pulled with a tow truck - can find at Eneos 1 Utama, told by a friend
6. Safety tint on windows - available at almost any tint shop
7. Adjustable tow hook (can be plugged in or plugged off) - to prevent from towing - any idea how to do?

And some should we need to leave our Es for a long period of time:
8. Take out the ECU - but at youtube u can watch the thief bring along all version of Evo's ECUs, the plug the ECU in and start the engine - DIY, but be carefull
9. Take out the spark plug cables, or even the spark plugs - DIY
10. Take out the battery - DIY

11. Captor system

WHEEL SECURITY
1. McGard nut locks for wheels - around RM500/set, or RM200/set @ Mudah.my, not sure whether original or not - refer to MLOC member Ixeo

Of course, these won't make our Es invulnerable. but at least, we can delay the steal as much as possible.

So, any of u do have any other extreme ideas that help to guard our Evo? Do share. sharing is caring! =)

This is a discussion thread so I don't really want to sell here but to share information.

McGard is the OEM for BBS, STi, TRD and of course, Ralliart! But these ones you can only get from the respective tuning house.

McGard has a line up of products, from budget ones to the tuner locks. The locks you see in mudah are their budget ones. I am selling the exact ones used by BBS, STi, TRD, Ralliart, which is their tuner line.

How much?
Wing Hin sells the complete TRD set for RM11xx last I checked, 20 pieces - 4 tuner locks, 16 spline drive lugs.
I heard Subaru owners tell me Motorimage can get the STi branded set, for around RM1.4k

I'm selling complete sets of 20, the exact same set as STi/TRD/Ralliart without the branding for RM6xx

My advice? Buy the LOCKS, you MUST have the locks. Protecting your rims is #1. Not funny waking up to a car without wheels. Tuner locks are slightly below RM300, depending on color, black costs more, chrome is cheaper. Each set of locks has its unique key, meaning my McGard key cannot open your McGard locks. Best part is that they don't fade. I use it myself with my ori TE37, sold that, using RPF1 now. I sleep soundly at night knowing its safe. I personally hate thieves, !@#$ should be run over by lorries.
