Default Why should I splurge on an RX7?

Ok.... I've done this with the Hyundai Coupe, now I'm gonna do this for the RX7.
Tell me, avid fans of this car..... why should I buy an RX7?
Here are my concerns:
1. Is it practical? I drive to work everyday. 20km each way.
2. What's the maintainance like? Parts, mods, servicing, etc....
3. Are the 2 rear seats usable at all? I have many friends.....
4. Are banks into giving loans for this car? D/p about RM6-9k.
5. How fast? My cousin drives a Skyline GTT. Can potong ah?
Thats it I guess.... I'm interested in one I saw in Motortrader.
1994, Orange with mods, going for 66k. Worth it?
Thanks all!

No, not practical... but driving to work is fine(assuming you only carry a suitcase or medium size baggages), boot doesnt fit anything, no cup holder, steering column not adjustable, glove box keeps popping open
2. What's the maintainance like? Parts, mods, servicing, etc....
Definately need more services to keep alive, havent needed to find parts yet, mods pretty much the same as most turbo cars, depend on your mechanic i guess...
3. Are the 2 rear seats usable at all? I have many friends.....
rear seats are just for show.. unless ur friends are midgets with no legs
4. Are banks into giving loans for this car? D/p about RM6-9k.
No idea, i'm sure someone here should know

would depend on the mods, they both come 206kw(series 8) stock, with the FD having a 200kg less dry weight i think. definately a win if both are stock. but definately has more chances than a hyundai coupe.

should get a mechanic to do all the checks on the engine before you buy a modded one tho, because a rotary with a crack seal or stuffed turbo can still pack a punch... till it blows itself up

COOL...
Fantastic reply. Cheers dude!
I'm gonna have a look at the car today so hopefully it isn't going to turn out to be as impractical as you made it out to be.
About the seats... if the car is right, I WILL look for midget friends to suit the car!
Ha ha ha.
But overall.... great answers.
Anyone else care to add?
Ta!

Hmmm..... here's something I just learned about the RX7.... It has a rotary motor, something I'm not familiar with at all.
Apparently a 1.3 engine becomes a 2.6... thus making it expensive to run.
Is this true?
Anyone wanna comment?

Not technically 2.6, but close to that.. would definately give a stock GTR a run for their money tho..

They do drink a lot of petrol even as a stock car... most turbo cars are thirsty cars anyway. even with grandma driving styles, a full 65L tank would hardly get 350kms. If fuel economy is on the top of your list, then maybe a rotary isnt the way to go. but to get that much power out of such a small rotary engine, you have to sacrifice something.. such as fuel economy, reliability etc..
