hi, i'm a newbie here.. yeah, i'm a proud owner of a kia spectra(CBU) for the last 2 years.. got it from my mom.. well, not really interested in it since i wanted a GTI so much.. but what to do, since my mom knows that i'm a speed demon on the road.. hehe

anyway, i've did some mods here and there on my car.. well, i've installed a micro compressor to my car to give it a lil'.. yeah, just a lil boost.. i've added 2 neon lights under my car, changed the gasket and the exhaust system.. got my car a s-type muffler which was recommended by my friend from MS Garage.. had installed a viper alarm system which almost ripped my wallet off.. there goes my ang pau money this year.. erm, what else.. oh yeah, i've ripped off the "LS" behind my car and replaced it with my name "nicole".. last but not least, i've install a turbo timer as well

so, i'm just wondering if i could get any folding side mirrors n a turbo charger for a spectra? hopefully i could get a set of new rims for my car by end of this year.. oh, i just love the OZ rims.. don't u agree with me, guys?

btw, what is novus? i've no idea.. is it like TRD or nismo or STI? tell me more about it.. thanx guys

now i know what novus is.. it's okay lar.. no offense but i like to modify d engine, suspension, braking system n etc better than modifying the exterior or interior of a car..
hmmm... now i'm thinking of adding more stuff to my car.. d ice would come later.. any ideas guys?
oh yeah, if anyone wants pioneer stuff for their car, probably i could get cheaper price for y'all since my friend is working for pioneer.. i got my eyes on the pioneer player with screen but it costs a bomb.. about rm7k.. sigh..

depends what do you wanna play
you want to go more on higher boost go for turbo
you want better response go for super charger

if you go for turbo you need to decide what kind of turbine do you want and single or twin turbine. They are selling the turbo kit at www.kia-fx.com

but do remember one thing
playing with turbo & supercharger ain't cheap
why?
you need to change your camshaft, pistons, etc
why?
because it can't might not stand the boost.

As for myself I'd stick with stock.
It isnt worth unless your engine already koyak then go for a transplant with a mazda engine. It fits nicely for a B6T or B8 210

Also you need to set your priorities straight. What do you want to modify first?
Engine first? Handling? or Braking?
I myself would rather go for basic engine mods like breathig system, spark plugs and spark plug cables, voltage stabilizer and grounding, Strut Bars(Handling), add some gadgets of two but not too many as I don't really believe in those gadgets. Thats as far as I would go for the engine as I am not going to race it. I am just modding it for smoother and easier acceleration.

As for suspensions I'd change to adjustable coil over with helper springs but Titan customised sounds inviting to me.

Braking system........I am satisfied with the current one. Maybe change the fluid to a Dot-4. Why? I tested emergency braking at 145km/h and it performs very well. Everyone was like Whoaaaaaaaa. never knew a spectra could brake that way.

As for ICE, I am just a basic ICE person. Nothing serious. Maybe a sub to compliment my mids thats all. I am more to SQ.

Do remember that certain engine stuff are not permanent as when you change cars you might have to sell it off with the car where as ICE you could just remove it and place it in your new car.

Therefore I strongly believe that basic mods is sufficient unless you are a racer.
As a racer only race in tracks. Do not endanger yourself and others.

Generally don't be sad after hear that spectra have to turbo kit.

Slowly upgrade ya. the micro compressor's little boost i think is your psycho gua... it only help u suck in more air and improve FC.

royney, you have the point of comfortable mods. most of ppl also do it. personally comfort mod enough d, such as mod until you feel your ride weight is no longer heavy and have some great response.
