At the Nismo Festival 2007 will be the first time the new R35 GTR is seen publicly on the racetrack. Hosted at Fuji Speedway the new GTR in GT500 guise will be sure to be a crowd favourite being the first GTR to enter into the Japanese GT Championship for four years. If you are around Tokyo or surrounding areas in the coming weeks, the trip out to Fuji Speedway would certainly be worth the effort, a visual and audible treat for everyone.
Nissan R35 GTR GT500The full detailed specifications of the new GTR GT500 car are scheduled to be released by Nissan in February 2008. There is still some speculation over the drivetrain and especially the engine, with many JGTC vehicles not using their standard engines in race specification. The GTR having won the JGTC Championship back in 2003 at its last outing, the 2008 entry is bound to claim some attention.
The Nismo Festival is just not about official Nismo race cars, though many will make an appearance, many of the aftermarket tuned vehicles also feature.
