i've been away for a while, and suddenly i came back with a problem..recently i did some tuning to my distributor, and my car works great with 1.6 intake system i'm using. the problem is, i can never floor the paddle now due to engine cut off, which will absolutely cost me rm60 to tune the ecu back and delete the speed sensor error. if not my car engine become sluggish and gives bad fuel consumption. anybody can help or give tips to remove the cut off? mine is 4g13p mmc ecu..

no lah, 4g92p throttle body n 4g91 injectors..plus distributor adjusting..that's the new setup on my car..the engine sounded like wanted to blow before is because the ignition point BTDC or what ever people call before is too advance for it..just want to confirm, where can remap or reprogram ecu? not sure if i have to do it because i just ask an eon service pomen about mitsu 4g13 mmc ecu, he told me no cut off..so should not experience problem like mine..during engine check up he found gear oil leakage at the odometer port at the gbox..suspected insufficient gearbox oil caused my car sluggish..still not satisfied, but i repaired it also, just incase..if i want or have to reprogramme my ecu, where can? thank you..

Bump: by the way, i experienced sudden power loss after reaching 180km/h..and only after that my car became sluggish..FC is bad too..after retune at eon service and cleared the speed sensor error, my car is ok..but the pomen told me to try not to reach 180km/h to avoid such mishap again..

i think maybe the TPS setting is out... need to goto proton SC to check with their equipment.

as for ur ignition timing... u cannot just advance the timing too much... u will experience knocking and will result in damage to the engine internals... especially when u are driving at high rpm...

mr chris, where you rechipped? interested to know..low compression engine? already put metal gasket in ka? if already put, better put the BOT fast..if not, of course sluggish, metal gasket is used to change engine compression characteristic from normal compression to low..and if want to lower compression some more can also change to low compression piston, the one with inward dome..to fast remedy this problem, but still not to satisfactory level, advance the distributor..this will advance your ignition timing BTDC what they call igniting your air/fuel mixture when it is highly compress..by the way, sifu guan, my distributor set a bit retard..too much air and fuel..if let it standard position, knocking when using shell petrol..now no more knocking and accelerate better..ah yu turbo near UPM serdang, somewhere near petronas station, anyone have been there? heard he can play2 with ecu map. anyone can confirm??

when u rechip the ECU... it is recommended to remap the ECU mapping as well to get better power... but make sure u already done up all the mechanical modifications 1st... from what i understand.. most ppl do rechip is just to remove the rev cut (and speed cut on Japanese cars)... the base map is left untouch if not mistaken...

for those who do not know... for our cars... the rechip is done by desoldering the ECU chip and resolder with a socket to fit in an EPROM chip. The EPROM (Eraseable Programmable Read Only Memory) chip will then be written with new ECU mapping and parameters that controls the engine operation.

afmarsyal,
are u sure u are retarding ur ignition timing?? or u advance it until u get knocking problems??

well... my sifu taught me the oldskool mechanic way of tuning... advance the ignition timing... drive throughout the range from low to high rpm... with load (high gear on low speed)... and at high rpm keep on going to redline... if got knocking.. retard a bit and test again.. until no knocking... that is the best setting...

if u adjust the cam timing.... then u will need to readjust the ignition timing again to match the cam timing. However this only applies to MMC or carbie engine.. SVDO cannot adjust ignition timing and the ECU will auto adjust whenever it detects knocking.

chris,
for problem free and dyno proven LCP.. u can consider Mythelogy. I have been using it for about 3 years...no problems at all..

this brand is already track n rally racing proven...

Bump: in Serdang i only heard of Tall guy Chung who is very familiar with EVOs... he can do rechip and remap job...

i'm asking my fren to bring me to see him after CNY to do rechip n remap for my car...

afmarsyal - when i bought dis wiring n ecu, it was already rechipped. the previous owner told me it was from MAG motorsport. anyone knows? was said that dis workshop gud in doing satrias...anywa, yea i did the gasket for low compression for the coming BOT project, seriously its sluggish, n i hav to bear wif dis for awhile, til after CNY..coz CNY they dun open just for me rite?? truely speaking, i oso dunno what to expect from dis turbo kit coz ppl say dun expect much, but i wud wanna experience 1st hand by myself :P

but if change the piston to low compression, can i do it to 4g15 block? mean i change to g15 block n balance the crankshaft, put in the turbo piston? i mean IF la..

khguan sifu - thanx for the recommendation. i will look on dat asap.. should be around 200-300ringgit??
