if its dry sooth black in color, means ur engine is running rich in AFR... have to retune ur carburetor... |
if its wet/oily black, usually means valve seal kantoi adi... in need of replacement or top overhaul...
I think it the wet/oily black. But here's the confusing part... when we realized this the mech just used a can spray to clean the spark plug head and he did say got tune the idling rpm bit higher on the carb.. nothing done to the engine..
But problem still remain..(engine semput...)
Yesterday brought it to another mechanic and he say not much wrong with the carburetor besides the fact that the autochoke not working.. what he saw wrong was the plug cables not good and the spark plugs are not suitable.. so change the cables and also new OEM proton plugs..
Then once done i test drive again, revving improve (more smooth) but still semput problem remains.. then he say 'oh u mean this semput ar? very normal for proton cars! It's like that wan, not a problem at all!' if u dun wan have this semput then change to EFI lor.. then start wan selling me EFI system and also halfcut di... wtf...
got check plug cables boh?
Yea bro already changed...
What do u all here think? Actually i've been living with this problem since i bought the car 5 years ago, but back then it was not that bad and it would be gone not long after a cold start. But recently getting annoyed with it as the 'semput' getting mare heavy, effecting more gears (previously gear 1 & 2, but now gear 1-4) and also it seems more 'permanent' now.. can still feel semput after 20mins driving.
But here's another something for u guys.. the problem seems not so bad with the a/c turned off..but i guess that's to be expected..
Can the carb be 'repaired'? or do i need to change a new carb?
He quoted me rm4000 for 4g15 EFI transplant including installation (he will also overhaul the engine before transplant..)..worth it?
How can the mech say this problem is normal and nothing wrong? dun tell me the previously sold saga LMST also have this problem when bought new?
